Pierre Viret is little known outside of circles engaged in Reformation research. He should be more well known. Viret has been called “The Angelic Preacher” of the Swiss Reformation. He played a critical role in the coming of the Reformation to Geneva, Switzerland. He was a greatly beloved preacher and reformer. Yet he suffered for his faith. In this first podcast on the life of Pierre Viret we examine his early life and his early ministry in his hometown of Orbe.
